PROJECT 1
An Observation

Since the production of services results in no material and durable good, we define the labor involved in this production immaterial labor – that is, labor that produces an immaterial good, such as a service, a cultural product, knowledge, or communication.– Toni Negri & Michael Hardt, Empire, 2000.

Muriel Cooper, Three-screen workstation, 1989.

Overview
Choose an interface or website that you use regularly and find interesting. Document your chosen interface or website through photographs, videos, and any other appropriate means of interaction with this digital space.

Considerations

  • How does this interface, app, or product work?

  • What are its users and their goals?

  • Map the site and its user flows (how do you get from point a to point b?)

  • How does its design influence what behaviors it encourages?

  • How could its design change? What effects would this have?

  • What have you learned about interaction design from this interface?

Presentation
Prepare a brief (5 min.) Google Slides presentation that displays your documentation of the interface or website and your reflection on these questions.

Deliverables
Place the final Google Slides presentation on the shared drive.
